Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the Compres API ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all users, including free-tier users.

2. Description of Service

Compres provides a text processing API that offers summarization, classification, and data extraction capabilities. The Service is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated output.

3. Account Registration

You must provide accurate and complete registration information.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your API keys.
You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service.
One person or entity may not maintain multiple free-tier accounts.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to process illegal content.
Submit content that violates copyright, privacy, or other intellectual property rights.
Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract our models or infrastructure.
Resell or redistribute access to the Service without written permission.
Use the Service to generate spam, misinformation, or harmful content.
Attempt to circumvent rate limits or access controls.
Use automated means to create multiple accounts.

5. Rate Limits and Usage

Each plan has defined daily request limits as published on our pricing page.
We reserve the right to throttle or block requests that exceed limits or exhibit abusive patterns.
Unused requests do not roll over to subsequent periods.

6. Pricing and Payment

Free tier: No payment required, subject to daily rate limits.
Paid plans: Billed monthly in advance. Prices are listed in EUR or USD as indicated at signup.
All payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details.
Refund requests within 14 days of initial purchase will be honored. After 14 days, refunds are at our discretion.
We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' written notice.

7. Intellectual Property

Your content: You retain all rights to the text you submit for processing.
AI output: You own the output generated from your input text. We claim no ownership over it.
Service: The Compres API, documentation, and branding are owned by AbiADIA and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

8. Data Processing

Your input text is processed in real-time and not stored after processing.
We do not use your text to train, improve, or fine-tune AI models.
Usage metadata (timestamps, token counts, endpoints) is retained for billing and abuse prevention (see Privacy Policy).

9. Service Availability

We strive for 99.9% uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Scheduled maintenance will be communicated in advance when possible. We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party providers, force majeure, or circumstances beyond our control.

10. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting support@compres.io.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice depending on severity.
Upon termination, your API keys will be revoked and data deleted within 30 days (subject to legal retention requirements).
Paid subscriptions remain active until the end of the current billing period.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use the Service.
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim.
We are not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or consequences of AI-generated output.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless AbiADIA and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.

13. Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by Spanish law. Any disputes shall be resolved first through good-faith negotiation, and if unresolved, through the courts of Spain. EU consumers may also use the European Online Dispute Resolution platform.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. Material changes will be notified via email or a prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
